So.. I'm finishing high school and planning to go to collage (Software Engineer) and was planning of getting a better laptop then my slow af HP 250 G5. It's a great laptop that i used in school regularly and it did a great job except for the battery. I used it in all my classes last year without needing to bring my charging adapter with me and hope to have an outlet near my desk but this year it seems to have become a MUST. So that's why i'm thinking of getting a Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro (i7 + 16GB) for future use with school and browsing and light gaming (WOW mainly). Also because i really like the design, estetic and a lot of things about it. Fingers crossed i'll be able to afford one thou. But I also noticed that a few youtubers talk about a LTE slot in the laptop that's not occupied and wanted to do my research about using a PCI-e LTE modem. I didn't get a lot of info so i was hopping to have some smarter people from the LTT community to help me out!
So, if i were to get a Mi Notebook Pro and a LTE modem, how does all that work? How do i  register to my preferred cellular provider? Is there a SIM slot on the modem?
Basically... I'm wondering how does all that work.
LTT video idea? Maybe?

Also, just want to point out that i'm not a noob when it come's to IT (saying this so you all know we can use big boy terms) and also that i realize that there are better laptops for the price.

So from the little research I just did on Amazon, many of the cards I found only work for specific Laptop manufactures and specific models. Your best bet would be to go to the manufactures website and see what cards they have listed as supported. From the pictures it doesnt show a SIM card slot on the card, but maybe that is located else where on the laptop. The big thing you need to research is what the LTE modem supports as far as bands. That will determine  which cellular provider it should work with.  Also, be aware that at least from what I have seen most Cellular providers wont provide unlimited data for these types of devices. So it might be better to see if you have unlimited hotspot on your phone and use hotspot instead.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
