Hey guys,

I've built a new desktop for my gf, it's a ryzen 7 2700x 26gb of ram and a gtx 1080, and this thing is getting HOT, the processor is on a stock cooler and i'm planning on upgrading that asap.

The side window on my case get REALLY HOT, you could burn yourself if you leave your hand there for too long, is this normal?

Can you guys suggest anything to help with that?

Thanks in advance

What temps are you hitting? I have an R7 2700X, 16GB RAM, and a 1080. R7 hit up to 85C under synthetic stress tests with stock cooler, now will spike to 70C or so but then equalizes at around 38C under extended 100% load with my 280mm AIO. my 1080 is an EVGA SC, it hits 66-67C max under full load. Unless your case is really small, or you forgot to remove the plastic cover on the cooler or something, your rig should not be heating the case that much.

Use HWMonitor to see what the temps are. If they're below 80 Celsius, you should be fine for long term use with the CPU. Plus, a hot radiating case means a nice space heater for winter.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Is there any airflow through the case? Judging by your description there's some stagnant air.

Oof. You should take the cooler off, clean it, repaste it, and then put it back on. Make sure to tighten it pretty well, you don't want to damage the mobo but you want it on tight. Because 92C under gaming load means something is wrong.

Well since he said the case itself got hot, clearly the heat is actually coming off one of the components. it's probably not being flushed out of the case.

I'm beginning to think there is not enough airflow on this case, I'll try replacing the stock cooler and the fans on the case, something is definitely wrong, even with the streaming and gaming it should not hit this temps

Try improving the airflow from front to back and see if it helps. Top fans should be exhaust as well.

3 140mm on the front and 1 on the back, there is still room for 3 more on top

Then something is definitely up with your CPU cooler, that should be plenty of airflow unless you literally glued the fans to the front glass.
