Hey guys!

What are your experience with big screen monitors for entertainment and gaming purposes?

Wanting a big screen for movies and couch gaming for PC I came across the Dell c5517h (around 800€) for example. Marketed as a monitor for mostly conference-room settings it has pretty decent stats comparing it to normal TV´s (only the 1080 version the 4k monitors are way to expensive starting at 2700€) I'll attach the pdf with all the stats.
What do you all think of such monitors, because it seems pretty reasonable to me to rather buy this than the waaay over priced gaming focused soulutions.

That monitor looks fine, but have you considered getting an TV instead? If you can find one with okay input lag, you might even be able to get 4k. What games would you be playing?

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

a decent tv should work

What is the screen size you are looking for ?

if you want somthing small go with a monitor -

if you want somthing large go with a tv

just make sure it has minimal input lag 1-4 milliseconds should be ok

input lag is the problem there most of what i found tv wise mostly is around 15 to 20ms.
This dell one has 8ms. Pretty ok imo. Also beeing rather big with 55'' and cheap for beeing a monitro and not a TV
Thats the thing I want something big in addition to my exsisting 2 monitor set up.

It should be atleast 55''.

mostly not 4k stuff because I rather play 1080 with my GTX1070 with better performance than 4k with less fps.

I was searching for a TV but nothing really reasonable popped up. mostly beeing either to much input lag or way to expensive
