Cannot install Windows 10 installation media

I just built my new rig, and now I’m trying to install windows 10. When I try to download the installation media on a usb drive I get the error code: 0x8004405 - 0xA001A.

Does anyone know a fix? I’ve looked at tons of threads and nothing has worked yet

Are you using the Microsoft USB creator?

Use Rufus to make a bootable USB.

Yes, I’m trying to create installation media

Well then, if the Microsoft USB creator isint working, then I would suggest using rufus, it has worked great for me in the past with bootable Windows USBs. Just download the ISO instead, and then use the ISO with rufus to make the USB.

Just small question - do you have this error before or after Media Creation Tool downloads Windows? I mean is this tool even starts to download anything?

If the problem is with usb try to delete all it's partitions in Disk management, then scan your usb with victoria or similar sector scaning tool to se if there are any bad sectors on your usb. Also try running the media creation tool as admin.

Someone wrote that you sould create partition and format it to FAT32, then copy MCT to the usb and run it from there.
