Hey, so if you've seen my name around its because I am building a new pc and need help. Last step is to connect cords to your display. I need to know what cords and whether to connect to the mobo or gpu? Do I need one or multiple cords? And if no signal is displaying, what's my next step? Cause I have tried dvi & hdmi together and seperate, same results of no signal. Please help, I really want to start up my pc.

What display do you have?

Because you should be connecting a DisplayPort or HDMI from the gpu to the monitor itself.

ASUS VG248QE 24

and my gpu is the evga geforce gtx 1070sc

I don't think the mobo or gpu comes with a displayport cord

With your monitor, any old HDMI should work just fine. But if you want to take full advantage of your monitor's 144hz goodness you're going to want a DisplayPort.

Ok so just connect the hdmi to the gpu & the monitor and it should work right?

So I'll have to buy a display port cord?

buy a display port

You don't really have to, its just if you want to take full advantage of what your monitor has to offer I would get one. With the HDMI display connector you can get 1080p at 120hz, which is awesome all in itself, but your monitor offers 1080p at 144hz, which is what the DisplayPort connector can get you.
