Hi Guys,

I recently build a PC with a xeon x3440 and I just want an insight on what would be a good overclock for it. I can get to 4.0GHz with 200x20 at 1.2875 on the VCore and 1.27 on the QPI. I tried 3.8GHz at 1.21V and 1.25 on the QPI, it boots stable which is the sweet spot. I can get it to 4.1GHz at 1.2875, but running any benchmarks just makes it crash and it hits 90c. Whats a good overclock to make sure it stays under the 72.1c T-Case? Like I said, even at 3.8GHz at 1.21V it still hits 75C when running cinebench. What would be the recommended settings to get a good overclock while staying under 70c?

System specs

  • Xeon X3440
  • Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3L
  • Noctua cooler with 2 90mm fans in push pull
  • rx 570
  • gigabyte 500w 90+ bronze psu
  • 500gb hdd
  • 120gb wd green ssd

3.8 doesn't sound so bad for all core. How low have you managed to get the voltage at 4.9?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
