hello everybody i have fixed a friends pc there was a problem with the HTS. I get it fixed but now when I have put it together it wont start. when i press the power button it says click, the fans spin up, the hdd power led blinks. That happens in about ½-1 second then it shuts down and does it again. I am not sure if I have destroyed his motherboard. Since i have had up from the case and did not take the biggest pro cations when i took it up. Does any of you have any idea what is happening. I can film it you would like to see it. Please help me i really do not wanna tell my friend i have fried his motherboard. :)

Doesnt sound like a damaged hardware-component. make sure that you have plugged in all cables at the right places. For me it sounds like if there was a jumper missing or wrong placed.
I have already checked that and I have tried changing the RAM, CPU and PSU but non of that helped. I have been thinking about taking the motherboard out and placing it on a something. because I have changed some of the screws on the motherboard and i am expecting that to may be a problem. Do you know if it could be a problem because I am probably going to bed now (its 00:10 A:M Denmark) so I will do it to morrow but if it can't help I do not wanna do it. :)

There could be something shorting it out and causing it to shutdown. Try to take your motherboard out of the case and test it on the motherboard box to see if that still happens. Check your front panel connections to see that nothing is shorting it out and causing it to restart.

I dont think that a screw really could power off your pc, unless you havent dropped some of them in the opened case and they interfere with the power supply or whatever. Have you replaced any hardware? Maybe your pc ist too low on power and doesnt turn on, because your psu is too weak.
