Recently I tried building a PC for the first time, and I completely forgot to take into account potential Static Damage done to my components when building it whilst stood on a carpeted surface. The PC turns on, fans come on, LEDs come on. But I am greeted to a black display. O can't access BIOS or anything. I also felt a small electric shock when handling the CPU. I was wondering if my CPU is completely fried.

Here are my specs:

CPU: i5 7400
RAM: Kingston DDR4 8GB (1x8GB) 2133Mhz ECC
Motherboard: ASUS H110M-K
PSU: Powercool Pentium p4 850W
GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 1050ti

Thanks!

is the monitor plugged into the graphics card or the motherboard?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

It's custom built :/

when you say custom build, is it by you or a builder.

if its by you, you will be able to return it to the retailer. if its by a build er they might send you another. if its within the 30 day odd return they they have to replace dead parts.

i doubt checks will take place its sometimes cheaper to send another and just bin the damaged part.

if you have the recpit you can return it
