Get the 1080ti and don't look back. It's better than the 1080 and the benchmarks for RTX just game out. The 1080ti is a 2080 without the RT.

You might get a nice deal somewhere on it too.

alright. I hope the prices will drop to about 1080 levels when rtx comes out

I'm with 1080, everything runs fantastic even on 1440p, but you need to pair it with equivalent or more powerful CPU, I'm with i7-7700 and in bad optimized games my CPU bottlenecks it. IF you have the money it's a no brainer go for the 1080ti

I mean I don't have like ALOT of money. Maybe I'll upgrade it later but 'll see what the prices do

You know what, after reading voiha's response, you could do that too. Depending on what monitor you play on and if you're looking to "future proof" it for a good while. Either way you can't go wrong really.

I suppose if you have the income and are thinking more of the future than the ti.

The 1080 is a great card as well. 1080ti can be overkill for your average gamer anyway.

If you're looking for a brand new, may I suggest this one? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/49YWGX/msi-geforce-gtx-1080-8gb-duke-oc-video-card-gtx-1080-duke-8g-oc

3fans for great cooling  and it's OC. This is of course assuming you have the clearance for it.

Hello!

I'm about to buy a new pc soon. I have a question. Is it worth to pay more for 1080ti? I'm not going to buy the rtx cards but would it be worth buying the 1080ti over 1080 for gaming?

Thanks for the answers everyone!

i was in the same boat as you are.
And where i'm from, ANYTHING computer related it expensive AF.

What i did? 3 simple questions:
1.- which refresh and resolution does my display have?

2.- will i change it in the really near future?

3.- will i play over 144Hz?

And........ Bought a GTX 1080.

Happier than ever and the extra buck go straight to ram, ssd, cooling, cpu, you name it
