Confused about modes

I have recently built a pc with an R7-2700x and a Gigabyte 1080. In the cpu control panel there are options for gaming mode and creator mode. The gpu has gaming mode, oc mode and professional mode. I am planning on using this computer to edit videos and photos and to game on, as well as using 3D modeling. What exactly do these options mean and which ones should I switch to from the default, if any?

Not sure about Professional mode but gaming and OC modes just relate to the clock speeds. If you set it to OC it will run a little faster but use more power.

Not sure about Professional mode but gaming and OC modes just relate to the clock speeds. If you set it to OC it will run a little faster but use more power.

It seems that gaming mode disables CCX2 on my chip. Not sure what creator mode does. Would screenshots help?

These are presets in the Ryzen Master utility you are looking at? 

 

I don't really know if those presets are good or not, haven't tested them out but I just run my 2600 at stock and if I want to OC I do so in the BIOS.

You need to tell us what software you are seeing this in? is it Ryzen Master, the bios or some board specific app and yes a screen shot would certainly help

Oh that makes sense. So it kinda behaves like TR (on TR gaming mode disables one of the dies). I guess creator mode is just standard.

 

You could mess with it, but personally I would keep it in creator mode for the extra threads.

I am seeing this is Ryzen master. I currently have not set it to either of the modes. Should I leave it the way it is or change it to creator mode?

I just looked go into Ryzen Master on the top right is a help link to the wiki explaining the settings

Ok thanks the wiki is useful. The default profile is allowing my CPU to go to 4.3GHZ if needed. Is there any benefit to activating creator mode.

Just completed my 1950x build I haven't tried it yet to see what the gain is, I don't game so I guess I'll turn it on and see
