GPU upgrade

Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

Any modern mid range would be good, and the gtx 1060 3gb is finally below $150 on eBay reliably. A CPU upgrade wouldn't be so bad either, after you upgrade the graphics card I recommend a 4770 at some point, should be around the same price as the graphics card.

Hey guys, currently I have an i5 4440, it hits 60c max

Anyways, I have a galax gtx 660 and I am looking to upgrade, what's a good gpu for my cpu?

I don't play really new games, I mostly play:

GTA V (normal/high mix with 2x msaa at around 45fps)  - GPU hits 100% usage and CPU 90-95%

BF 1  (medium, 30-50fps)                                                 - both around 100%

CSGO (max, low shadows ~170fps)                                -GPU 100% and CPU 30-40%

And some other games like crisis and SimCity

I live in the UK and I don't mind buying used, my entire pc is used actually.

What GPU do you guys think I should get?

And with that a PSU if it uses more than a 6pin as I have a really bad PSU (rs-500-psap-j3)

I was thinking about a 1060 3gb as I wont really use more that 3gb in 1080p but I'm unsure if my CPU wouldn't bottleneck it

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Ok, thanks.

I was planning to:

1. Get a better GPU

2. Upgrade to 16gb RAM, as when playing games I sometimes go up to 7,5gb

3: Hopefully get a 4790k as they are about £170 ($225) used, I may oc it later but for now I just want the higher clock speeds, however I'm still going to school so it would take like a year to get money for that.

(I have a b85 mobo so I wouldn't be able to oc it currently)
