A while ago i bought an asus z170-e motherboard.

I think that there is something wrong with the ethernet adapter though because when I plug in the cable that I had used up until this point with my older motherboard it just won't work.

Every now and then the lights on it will briefly turn on and the lan logo changes to the one that indicates that it's connected but it doesn't have an internet connection before it stops working completely again.

At this point I have tried several drivers and updated my bios and I also went to the store where they told me it was fine so at this point i'm really not sure what to do.

I've been told to try a different cable however the one that I use runs trough basically my entire house so i cant just replace it.

Please tell me if you know something.
