Unknown notification sound

Go to solution Solved by Thobiex,

I think i found out what it was. Steam recently launched it's new chat system, and apparently they changed their notification sound, and reset my notification preferences.

For a couple months now I've been hearing this notification sound that I don't recognize, and I can't for the life of me figure out where it's coming from.

Does anyone recognize it?

PS.

In case it's relevant, I've got Windows 10 64-bit 1803, and most of the common software you'll find on a gaming pc.

(also, if this is in the wrong section, feel free to execute me on the spot)

Now that's just weird , any programs running in your taskbar?

Almost sounds like a old Alienware sound or a keygen sound

The background processes that are running are: Steam, Logitech gaming software, Malwarebytes, Discord. Teamviewer, Nvidia, Corsair utility engine, Java updater, Hamachi, Nordvpn, Oculus, Realtek Hd Audio Manager and TeraCopy

Ok it's gotta be TeraCopy nordvpn or hamachi. I think it's hamachi.

Just curios how did you get a audio sample of it?

I seriously doubt it's TeraCopy, and as far as I'm aware, the only way to get a notification from Hamachi is through its rudimentary chat, and the notification sound is just the standard windows ding. And NordVPN only notifies me when it connects/disconnects.

Also I got the audio sample by leaving Nvidia ShadowPlay running on Instant Replay, and isolating the audio clip from the video.
