Laptop temperature

Go to solution Solved by BecauseRussia,

Are the fans loud, do you think they are spinning very fast? I don't know what laptop you have, but HP has been known to disable the CPU fan spinning when running on battery. I would look in your BIOS to see if there is any option to adjust your fan curve.

If possible you could also look into replacing the stock thermal paste in your laptop. As almost every laptop manufacturer uses crappy thermal paste.

For some reason the CPU is around 40-50C when the computer is idle. I just got this laptop yesterday and it runs hot for no reason. Currently, the temperature is around 60C while running twitch and this page. I mean my old laptop chills at around this temperature range while running Fortnite. This is a new laptop! Is this normal? Thanks!

idk the cpu is Intel 8550u & Rx 530 for graphics

that could be the issue have you ever opened up the back panel? (it may void your warranty if you do though) if you can open it see how many Copper Heat pipes there are and how many fans. also what is the laptop name? like Dell Inspiron, HP Omen X, etc?
