Confused w/ NVME compatibility

Go to solution Solved by SupaKomputa,

yes you can use it as secondary harddrive if you want to, it just confirming the bios support for booting through nvme ssd.

but why you want a nvme for storage? such a waste of bandwidth (and money).

you should use it as your main drive / boot disk.

Hi guys,

Kinda new on the forum but I follow LTT in youtube.

I am planning on getting a 480gb Adata XPG SX800 SSD, M.2 NVMe.

My board is an AsRock Ftal1ty B250 Gaming K4, but it said on the spec sheet "Supports NVMe SSD as boot disks".

Would that mean I won't be able to utilize M.2 NVMe for storage?

Thanks for the help.

That confirms it. Thanks so much.

That is actually my plan. I'll be replacing my old 500gb HDD and make it as a secondary.

I would love to have the 1TB evo but the price is gold here in my place :D

Thanks again dood.

1tb evo is gold everywhere, not just your place.

normally people use 256gb or 500gb ssd, it should be enough for system drive.
