Laptop without battery

Old laptops could be run without the battery (which was also removable without unscrewing anything) as long as the ac was plugged in. I now have a dell xps 13 9370, which I mostly use at home for casual gaming, such heavy use quickly drains the battery and I have to often charge it, which I'm sure doesn't do any good to the battery. I would rather just use it while plugged, whithoud damaging the battery, is there any way I can remove the battery and do this?

Um, so the xps 13 has a removable underpanel, it is fairly easy to remove. TBH there isn't any guarantee that it will work without the battery plugged in (quite likely it won't these days unfortunately), BUT you should be able to easily remove the battery, close it back up and try. If it doesn't turn on, then just throw the battery back in and now you know.

Try to avoid doing heavy load while on battery

 

You can do a setting via Dell utility (forgot the name, it's in BIOS) so that the battery won't charge at a certain level while plugged in

if your going to open it go to ifixit's web site and see if they have a removal video and a replacement battery for it and just make it new again.
