I'm down to the last part of my build and I'm currently thinking of getting a reference GTX 1070. Have any of you had any experience with it? and how has it performed compared to others? Also what sort of overclocking capabilities can I expect? Any and all feedback is appreciated.

The reference cooler won't afford as much efficiency and effectiveness as a dual fan card. While the founders edition card is good, it's best suited for small form factor builds that need the air exhausted out the back. If you have 2 front intake fans, you have enough airflow to get a better cooler.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

It's ok but kind of loud. If there are ones with two fans or more for a similar price definitely get those instead though.

Best Buy has a deal for $349 right now that's pretty hard to beat. But Fry's which is a bit closer has a deal on some 3rd party for around $409. would the difference be worth it?

If you're fine with MIRs you could get a 1080 ti armor or SC for $370 at which point I would be inclined to recommend those instead. It really comes down to how much noise bothers you... If you're someone like me for whom noise really matters then I would pay the extra. If noise is fine.... then whatever.

Where is that deal being offered? Also noise really isn't an issue, I live under a very large international flight path, the extra noise will probably help.

I just found it off of PCPP. The armor 1070 is $365 at newegg after mail in rebates. B&H offers the 1070 SC at $370 after mail in rebates (and this might actually be your best option: Unless you live in NY B&H doesn't charge tax so it could end up being cheaper than the founders once you include tax, unless you live in somewhere like oregon where they don't charge sales tax).

I really don't recommend Armor. The cooler is just a lazy design, with bad cooling, but if you get it cheap, then it's still better than reference design. However, I recommend basically any other cooler than armor if it's in budget.

Oh, I thought you were talking about a 1080 ti and I was getting excited.
