i have a 2500K right now dose its job but after i started doing amateur auto-cad and started using CS6 for school the i5 is lagging also i have all 4 dimms full of 4 geg dims of 1866 ram, i want to upgrade to an i-7 but i only have a 300ish price range before selling off the old processor and z67 board, i am thinking the 3770k but then i have the issue of using 16 gegs of ram "i don't know how" but i also was thinking about a 3820 because of the 2011's extra ram. my only issue is its not a K series how well do you think it would turbo clock can it overclock, can to reach my 4.2 of my i-5.

Going from a 2500K to a 3820 you will see almost zero gain.

You can use 32GB of memory with your 2500K, assuming you have at least the Pro edition of Windows 7. Or any Windows 8.

You can OC the 3820, just saying.

Just don't be a babby, OC your 2500K until you start to hit 90C in Prime95. Get a decent cooler and save yourself the headache of upgrading your platform, you'll save some money and get better performance. A great cooler is only about $80-$100 and 32GB of memory is $200.

Turbo on non unlocked processors (non k) overclock 2 cores and only to 3.8ghz for a second so it's useless. Get a H80i and overclock that processor to 4.2ghz (easily attainable for a noob) and I feel 16gb is fine. What video card do you have? If you don't have one or isn't powerful there's your real problem.
