How to change groups?

So I'm noticing that everyone is in a specific group (i.e. Advanced Member, Moderator, Junior, etc.)

Some of these groups are even sort of humorous (expert procrastinator).

I was wondering how I would rank up. Does Linus or another moderator have to see your posts, or is it a set amount of posts, or likes you get?

with 500 posts, you can choose your own title.

 If you came here before the change it would say Junior Member. But after the change it's Member. Then at 500 posts you can set a custom title.
