laptop apu problems

Go to solution Solved by bransasko,

thank. but my bios doesnt have that menue or setting. its very locked down.

I think it can't be increased.

Or it is the maximum memory for labtop apu

As we all assumed that the labtop apu and pc apu are the same.

I whish i can help more.sorry

Hello, i like to say first that ive enjoyed gaming on my asus K55N laptoop. But i would like to allocate more memory toward my apu which is a Amd A8-4500m. Right now i only have 512mB of ram allocated and i cant change it in the bios. I would like to know if theres any way around this so that i can at least allocate 2 GB of ram. I currently have 8 GB of 1866MHz ram and only use at most 5 GB. Can anyone please make any suggestions to do this? thank you.

Pretty sure you can only do it through the BIOS.

what is your OS and what bit rate does it run at?

Guessing how long it is taking you to respond, you do not even know...

Your wording is confusing and he could be offline.

i bassiclly want to allocate more ram for my gpu but my bios wont let me.

You would have to modify the bios using a hex-editor if you want to change values that are locked.

I read some thing about APU shared memory

That the shared memory depends on the system memory.

It was in a table on a 6670 video card unboxing.

As remember if the system memory 4 gb the maximum shared is 1 gb(for pc)

So i think the solution in upgrading system memory

how and where do you get hex-editor. Also is it safe to use?

It is not safe to use. I would recommend against it. Also, some BIOSes are encrypted. But if you really want to do it:

I was just wondering if there was some way around the os to do it. i would prefer not to do it see as its not safe but thank you anyway.
