I upgraded my computer about 4 months ago to the following:

Ryzen 5 2400

Asus b350-f gaming

Gigabyte GTX 1060

2x4GB GSkill 2666 ram

Everything worked great for the first 3 moths, no issues and no problems.  For about the past month i have been getting random black screens.  No stutter or freeze before hand just black.  All the fans and LEDs in the case remain on but the computer is totally unresponsive.  There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the shut downs.  I played Witcher 3 for 4 hours straight last night without a single problem.  Then today as soon as I woke the computer up from sleep I got the black screen.  The night before I was about 2 hours into Cities Skylines when I got the black screen.   As a side note nothing is overclocked and the bios is at default settings.

What I have done so far:

-My power supply was from old rig so I replaced that about 2 weeks ago and the problem is the same.

-I have removed my graphics card and ran off of the Ryzen APU and the problem still happens.

-I have updated all drivers and bios that i can think of.  I have not gone as far as reformating windows or uninstalling all drivers and reinstalling.

-I called ASUS and they RMA'd the board, however they didn't find anything wrong with it so all they did was flash it and return it.

I am kinda at a loss for what to try next.  I almost think it may be software related at this point but I am not sure what to even check.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Just to add a bit more.  The keyboard and mouse shut down, so it loses USB power.  Also when it shuts down the only way to turn it back on is by killing the power supply.  Holding down the power button will not kill it, it has to have all power killed

Thanks in advance!

It seems only other components that can be at fault are the monitor and cables. Maybe try reinstalling graphics drivers using DDU?

I should have added this.  The keyboard and mouse shut down, so it loses USB power.  Also when it shuts down the only way to turn it back on is by killing the power supply.  Holding down the power button will not kill it, it has to have all power killed.  Also it happened again while I was typing this, and the computer was only on for ~20 min.

Download HWmonitor and check what your temps and voltages are.

https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

See if anything is out of the ordinary. You've already tried several things I would have suggested. If nothing seems wrong you could try removing one of the RAM sticks and try then swap them to see if it could be defective RAM.

I already have that installed.  My temps are fine, however I wouldn't know what a strange voltage would look like.  I can post a screen shot if you think that would help.

According to "ATX specification Version 2.2" (source: https://cdn.instructables.com/ORIG/FS8/5ILB/GU59Z1AT/FS85ILBGU59Z1AT.pdf)

positive voltages should not vary more than about 5%

3.3V should be between and 3.135V and 3.465V

5V should be between 4.75V and 5.25V

12V should be between 11.4V and 12.6V

Negative voltages have a 10% tolerance.

-5V should be between -5.5V and -4.5V

-12V should be between -10.8V and -13.2V
