HDD formatting problem

Michaelsws

Pc storage devices

SSD 120gb (boot)

HDD 1tb (general storage) - this is the problem

HDD 120gb (some old hdd i got from a laptop)

So recently my hdd has been acting up.

1st my game file got corrupted

2nd it started taking time to load in windows explorer

3rd it now crashes every time i try to open in in windows explorer

So since i dont really care if i lose all my games and memes , i have tried to format it using the right click and format at windows explorer.

Whenever i tried to format it, it just crashes my windows explorer.

So i move on to another try

this time is used disk management

When i open disk management it takes quite a while to load. When it loads everything is like normal so thats fine. Then when i try to format my disk it just kinda crashes but still says it formated it

At this point nothing had changed so i moved on to trying 3rd party softwares to wipe/ format my drive.

i tried easeUS

i just used "Hard disk low level format tool"

and it says my hdd is empty but im still unable to access it because windows explorer keeps crashing.

i would like some help in this case as i have not encountered any hard disk problems that could not be solved by formatting

edit: this hard drive was bought in at the end of december 2017

How old is this disk?

if it is really old then maybe the disk is entering the end of it's life cycle.

Using the other storage devices does not cause any problems right?
