I've read some forums that I should frame limit my gsync display. Is this really necessary?

165hz GSync 1440p

G-Sync doesn't work when your framerate is higher than your refresh rate.

The point of gsync is to synchronize the refresh of your monitor to the production of a frame by your GPU.  Of course, your monitor can only display so many frames per second (165 in your case I guess), and so if you render at more than that, gsync is "N/A" anyway, so you can either ignore gsync and just run your game really fast like it would work on any monitor, or cap it to 165.  I don't know why you would cap it though because if you can render faster than you need, you may as well.  The whole point of gsync is to keep things smooth when you can't max out the refresh rate of your screen, so if you can, why is it needed?

-edit: also, I'm moving this to displays.  It might also fit in PC gaming or GPUs, but certainly not peripherals.-

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
