Hi LTT Forum,

Budget is around 2K but would like to upgrade current PC for 1080p gaming at 144hz with current monitor - Just need internal components nothing else.

Playing PUBG, Hunt, GTA, CS and probably some new games as they come out

Current spec PC is a 4670K I5, MSI 1060, 12GB Corsair RAM, 1 128GB 1x250 Samsung SSD Evos, 2TB Storage, Fractal R5 Case which I really want to keep, PSU 550W Seasonic 80 + Gold

Ideally I'd like a Motherboard with onboard Wifi if possible. Any ideas welcome for best ways to spend monies to upgrade please. Would like FPS as high as possible whilst at 1080p.

Thankyou.

Infam0us - :D

Thanks guys,

I got advice on another forum to upgrade my GPU to a 1070, and buy a used 4790k as any further upgrade wouldn't be financially worth it. Would you agree with that?

You will still be stuck on a 4 core cpu though if you go with a 2nd hand i7 4790K. All you are gaining is Hyper Threading. With a £2K budget you could easily wait for the i9 9900K (8 core/16 thread) and Z390 to release.

As for the gpu a 1080 ti is a bit overkill for 1080p/144Hz. The prices could be affected when the RTX cards release but knowing Nvidia probably not.
