So im a complete newbie at pc modding. My aim is to build a custom RGB pokemon themed backplate for my PC.

Now in terms of assembly that seems simple enough with me seeing enough of a tutorial and some of my own basic knowledge to complete that without help.

What i do need help on is the design of it using CAD.

I intend to use a laser cutter at my university to machine the backplate from acrylic.
So ill show you what i have so far.

So this will be the bottom clear acrylic layer and the little circles are for magnets to hold the plate to the gpu. The left little box is where my SLI Bridge gap will be. Now im not sure if this is the correct format at all and have no idea if i can make it so that the SLI cutout actually looks like a cutout which is where i need help.

Cant wait to get this underway and show you the final results

With Autocad you can draw in 2d and later add the 3d information. Fusion360 should be similar.

You can connect multiple parts to assembly.

Btw. it does not look right. I don't think that the screw holes for the cooler are at the edge of the pcb. Since you will just cut it a picture might work. Otherwise a dwg file is required.

Nah this is right for the bottom plate as i have to leave room for the led strip. The top piece will however be bigger
