I have a laptop. It wont game or do much else. 15fps on ultra low settings on fortnite. Neeeeeeed to upgrade. Using for Hw, gaming and web browsing.  Wanna be able to get 60fps on fortnite medium or high. Budget=£400 ( roughly $500)

Big thing though; got OCD (certificate and everything) .  Because of this i want a few aesthetic things... :)  the Mobo must have I/O armour, the case mus have a window and psu shroud. Also The Gpu must require a Psu cable to show off custom cables from uPhere! (amazon) and should have dual fans. And it needs SSD or if it must, a hybrid. The cheaper it is, so long as it conforms with all the above criteria, the better. so here it is. And case theme is black and blue. NO RED. big thing. adhere to the colour scheme. my current laptop has used 118gb of storage so needs more than 120gb.

Pentium Gold G5400

ASRock B360m Pro4 matx Lga1151 (I/O armour :))

patriot signature line 8gb DDR4 2400 Ram (blue :))

TCSunbow X3 120GB SSd

EVGA  Gtx 1050 FTW 2gb ( psu input, dual fans :))

DIYPC Vision 3 ( psu shroud, black and blue :))

Be quiet! Pure power 10 300w

Total :

£421.03

$540

Is this balanced? reckon not. But any upgrades that can lower price and stick to these guidelines will be sweet. IDK if it can be done but hey. Max spending limit is £450 but i would rather not pass that or get closer to it.

Forget aesthetics

Did you already buy the case? it appears to have no airflow, and likely looks horrible in person.

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

nope bought none of it.

Then you're going to want a decent 240GB SSD, and a decent power supply

Should just use the pretty decent iGPU on the R3 2200G for now, then toss in an RX 570/580 1060 6GB later for 1080p gaming.

Or just get the R3 over the Pentium in any event, 4c/4t and AM4 > 2c/4t and 1151. Since AM4 is supposed to get CPUs up to 2020.

looks like RX 570s hover around 180 GBP for now

better? Again still very big on aesthetics mate

Case has 0 airflow still, you're going to want something with a mesh front

You want an ASrock Pro 4/Fata1ty board, or MSI Tomahawk

and you probably want the R3 2200G should the iGPU ever be needed.

Bad idea to buy the cheapest SSD

which one is better? As is. And what upgrades would you recommend to either A or b.

option A is just bad, option B wastes too much on the case when the budget is low.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
