So I happen to be looking at my motherboard's driver download page and noticed that some of mine are outdated when looking at device manager

when using the Window's update drivers button, it only updated them to 2017 versions not 2018 ones.

Should I install the drivers from the website?

Specifically the Realtek LAN Driver, Realtek Audio Driver, and AMD Chipset Driver

The manufacturer's site lists the latest drivers, Windows update only has those that are checked and verified by Microsoft.

The latter is supposedly guaranteed to work with your install whereas the former isn't, but manufacturers generally don't release drivers without testing them themselves.

Personally I don't care all that much.  I download the latest drivers from the parts manufacturers' site whenever I do a fresh install, afterwards I mostly ignore them.  If it works, don't fix it.

The only time I'll update drivers or my BIOS is when the updates patch vulnerabilities.
