Hi,

I would like to know which Gpu i should buy to replace my ancient GTX550ti. I play rts and rpg games on occasion nothing too intensive (Poe-D3 etc). I have been waiting to upgrade since last year,

but the prices were out of my budget (2-$300) Also, while im asking about the Gpu, would it be wise to spend money on the fastest CPU my MainBoard can handle or just ugprade Mobo Cpu Ram down the road.

Here are my specs.

Cpu- I5 3570k

MainBoard-AsRock z77 Extreme6

Gpu-Gtx550ti

Ram-Corsair DDR3 4x4 16g

SSD-Samsung Evo

Psu- Corsair Hx750

Thanks.

Budget/Country?

Your CPU is fine for 60hz gaming

Only a 1080p 60hz display?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I take it $200 is out of your budget, then a decent RX 570 should do you fine. After all, all you play seems to be non-intensive stuff, and it's still a massive upgrade over a GTX 550 Ti. This GPU looks like it could be OC'ed somewhat decently as well so you should be able to squeeze some decent performance out of it for 1080p RTS gaming. It's going for a pretty good price actually IMO:

A 1060 6GB should be good for you, assuming 1080p60fps

14900K, RTX 5090 (360mm AiO), 64GB RAM, 4K 144Hz OLED

Im on the east coast, USA. Im using an Asus 238h-p monitor 1080 60 and sometimes a second 20" Hp monitor. Thanks for the replies.

Budget? Should probably just stick to an RX 570/580 depending on sales

GTX 1060 6Gb can overkill any 1080p gaming with maximum setting, even if your monitor more than 60Hz refresh rate, it can maxed out the fps or even go more.

My GTX 1060 6Gb serves me HD client World of Tanks at 1080p fully ultra setting 90-115 fps with stock clocks, it can do 120-148 fps if it overclocked to 2.1 GHz but I think my CPU also involved to this high fps. Unfortunately this GPU might be out of the OP budget range.

My system specs:
