It will work, but in games your GPU will be limited by your slower CPU, so you probably won't get the full performance that graphics card has to offer.

What games are you hoping to play? What settings and resolution are you aiming for?

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

it will work but i would NOT put that GPU with that CPU you're pc with bottle neck to hell and back you would get less than half the performance from that GPU if you use it with that CPU. i would find one of three things 1 a GPU that can match the speed of you're processor 2 and better processor to match that GPU or three and good CPU with good integrated graphics.

If this is your current system and you are upgrading to a video card rather than the onboard graphics you have currently, then do it. :)

Then later you can build a better rig by upgrading just a few components. For example, Asus- M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard AUD$118.00 and AMD- FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor AUD$86.45
And you will need a CPU cooler that fits your case maybe the Cooler Master Hyper 212X AUD$48.00. The rest of this build (see PC Partpicker -click here-) you would already own!

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves (Abraham Lincoln,1808-1865; 16th US president).

OP is in India judging by the websites showing Amazon.in that he posted. Not sure why you're posting prices in AUD?
You can also change the country for PCPP in the top right corner to different countries, including India, which will select Indian stores and show in Indian currency. If you set it to India, that build comes to 37,000 Rupees (not including the cost of RAM or PSU).

If anyone is going to buy a motherboard and CPU, they should not be looking to purchase a dead platform of AM3+ motherboard with an FX6300. If you're going to be buying a new motherboard and CPU, then get a Ryzen system.

You've selected 3 sticks of 2GB memory. The board you have selected is dual channel with 4 DIMMs, so I'm not sure what you're planning there. Since there's no price listing for it, I'm guessing you're suggesting reusing the RAM from the current system. If you check the motherboard they have it only has 2xDIMM slots, meaning they must be using a 2GB stick and a 4GB stick. (Not overly important, just thought it was really odd that you recommended 3x2GB sticks)

Better plan would be just buy the 1050ti now if he is wanting to do some basic/light gaming and just put up with the CPU bottlenecking for now, while he saves up some cash to do a platform upgrade later and then do it properly. Something like...

Costs a little bit more than the AM3+ & FX6300 suggestion, but that is an entirely new system and includes the cost of 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a good quality PSU, and an SSD. It also means that OP could sell his current system (minus the GTX 1050ti) used since he's getting all new parts. I'm sure he could find someone in India who will buy his HP prebuilt PC for 10,000 Rupees ($140 USD).
