Ok update. It is posting in the case. However this is without screwing it down. Do the screws have to be specific? I have 3 “motherboard” screws and a bunch the same size and same threads. Only difference is the heads are rounded and not flat

Good to hear you're making progress. I'm not the authority on motherboard stand offs, although 3 sounds like not enough.

Is you're thinking it's the particular stand off that is causing these issues with your build?

If it's unrelated to the stand offs I'd try and put in at least 2 or 3 more because if you're ever moving your build you don't really what the motherboard to be to loose or rattling in the case.

My build won’t post. On the table it powers on but no signal to monitor. In the case it powers on then reboots itself every 90 seconds or so. I’ve tried every step from the pinned post here in troubleshooting. Only thing i didn’t do was remove the cmos battery as it is a new build. Specs are.

i know the psu and gpu are good. And I just rma’d the mobo ram and cpu. So they are brand new. Please help this build is for my nephew who is about to move out on his own. And I want this working before he does. Thanks in advance guys

reset CMOS battery, plug the signal cable into GPU, and try again. If it boot loops then thats normal, just let it loop 3-4 times and if it doesnt stop come back here

You said you were getting no video. This was when you plugged in your monitor to your graphics card correct? What happens when you connect it to your integrated graphics instead? Does it boot using that instead?

What integrated graphics?

So I removed the cmos battery and put it back in. it posted on the table top. Got into the bios then shut it down. Put everything back in the case. Now back to nothing. It turns on nut no display or kB/m.

So when it's in the case it doesn't post? Sounds like something in the case is shorting the motherboard. My first suggestion would too look around where I/O Shield and ports are. Sometimes the shield tags can touch the case and it can cause issues. Make sure you all your stand offs installed correctly too. Be careful too because people have wrecked their motherboards when fiddling with the stand offs incorrectly :).

this case has been a freaking nightmare to work in to begin with. gonna put everything in an older corsair case. if this thing posts in the corsair case, this crappy CM case is gonna die a fiery death
