Hello there fellow LTT community,

I own a Surface Pro 3 with an Intel Core i5-4300U and 4 Gigs of RAM. It worked fine for two years now, but the past week was incredible frustrating.

My SP3 is constantly spinning the Fan while doing nothing. I have 0% CPU/GPU usage and the CPU sits at 71° C with a room temp of around 24° C. Thus, whatever my system is doing, my battery goes down within one and a half hour from ~90% to shutdown. I bought this thing to use it portable in the university library, because places with wallplugs are kinda always occupied. I overlooked background processes and none of them seem to go rogue. I would be happy for any suggestion besides "clean install windows" because thats the last thing i want to do, all my work and university stuff is on there and needs to be saved/reinstalled.

Also Google Chrome recently seems to suck an extreme amount of the capabilities of this machine for w/e reason ( 1.0 - 1.5 gigs of ram usage ). Any suggestions?

Use another browser lol Chrome is RAM hungry and that's just what you have to put up with for Chrome, it's like Chrome tax.

Irish in Vancouver, what's new?
