again, I don't think VScode randomly generates files. Are you using any other frameworks for project mangement? Maybe a plugin?

time  to reinstall VS code?

some of the settings are weird too. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt

perhaps in case you don't want to use markdown? I'd delete the one you don't plan on using. No need that I can think of to use two, and you don't want them going out of sync, though I'm pretty sure github will default to the markdown variant. I'm not actually sure it's vscode generating that, since AFAIK vscode doesn't really do project generation. It kind of assumes you have another framework (maven, npm, yeoman, etc.) to set up your project template, which you then just add to a workspace in vscode. do you have any plugins that you use for creating projects?

what you mean? i only wrote one markdown file...

then it created another one that has the same info in it but changed the extension to html..

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

what do you mean it sometimes doesnt work? lol yeah i'd try a reinstall if you're getting that kind of behavior from an otherwise reasonably stable IDE

I have reinstalled it, yes. And so far so good.

what I mean was for example, sometimes when coding, auto-complete does not work, sometimes it does.

like when you key in a "" sometimes it will auto complete and gives you a pair of ", sometimes it doesn't.

it was getting really annoying to a point that I have to do something about it.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.
