I use this when purchasing new PSU's, very useful https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator

PSU calculators are useless and overestimate by a ton. They want ot sell you high wattage PSUs, they don't want to tell you what PSU is good for your system.

They suggest a PSU based on power required, its not rocket science, you can do the calculations yourself, which I have done or use one of these which do work.

No, they suggest a random (usually crappy) PSU with way too much wattage.

Here's what the PSU calculator suggests for Anandtech's X299 GPU test rig.

And here's the actual power draw during gaming.

Justify however you please, I've never had a single molecular problem using PSU calculators & they have always given me an accurate enough figure, doesn't bother me how you figure yours out

And you know that the result is accurate, because you've measured it? Or are you just trusting them without anything to back them up, and lots of evidence to prove that they are crap?

It recommends 300w PSU

I think the 300w is too low

The 5750 is an 86W card, 300W is about twice as much as your system will actually use.

I'm using my own calculations, I'm running with a PSU that has more power than I need for future upgradability, however the point I am trying to convey is that for somebody in need, the calculators in question can be used to get a power rating that will cover what they need. I didn't make them, I just know that they exist. I couldn't care less about collating information to back up a calculator that I didn't make, because my final purchase of any item for my PC is based on my own calculation not on somebody else's.

Helping others is a good thing. Spreading misinformation to justify your ridiculous purchases is not. You're doing the second thing.

This is not misinformation, misinformation would be to suggest that I'm giving false information, I am not, I'm just giving this person a way of seeing a rough figure as to what they need, I cannot see them person to person to physically work it out manually for them, so the next best thing is to give them something they can look at & learn to understand themselves. I'm not saying to them to go and buy the very first thing it suggests, nor did I say it is 100% accurate, merely something you can use to get a rough figure, which it does.

Overestimating by a factor of 2 is not an estimate. At that point you might as well go to random.org, and choose a number between 1 and 850. You have a very good chance of getting a better "estimate".
