This. Try reinstalling GeForce Experience too.

 

Also worth a try downloading the driver from Nvidia directly rather than GeForce Experience.

right.  But.  If you are trying to install it with the drivers, and getting an error referencing it.  You may want to try installing the drivers without.  and GeForce Experience seperately.

 

When troubleshooting, the goal is to systematically eliminate possible causes, and thereby arrive at a root cause for the problem you are having.

it may have?  but we really dont know enough to say for certain.

 

Personally, I just installed the latest drivers from scratch on my 1070 with no issues, including Shadowplay.

 

So whatever issue you are having is likely not a widespread bug, but specific to your system in some way.
