RGB help (PC newbie)

Hi, I’m a first Time PC builder. I’m using the master box td500. It says it comes with an RGB controller and now I’m confused. Do I need a specific motherboard? Like do I need an RGB compatible mother board or is the RGB controller completely separate. Does the RGB controller make the mother board RGB compatible? Like I said I’m brand new to this so can someone just explain to me what I need to do please? Thanks.
