I'm trying to shrink my SSD on computer management but it won't shrink further than 5GB. I have 197 GB free storage and I am trying to make a partition of my SSD so that I can make it a cache for my HDD with primocache. Also, what amount of storage should I allocate to cache for my 2 TB hard drive. I'm pretty sure I'll do 64 GB but I am not sure. Can someone please tell me how I can shrink my drive further and any recommendations anyone might have. Thanks

Windows fails to do so because files have been spread out and it does not want to move them before the shrink.

Use an alternative Partition program to shrink/extend,.. as it WILL move the files before the splitting of partitions.
PartitionWizardFree can do this. (Shrink/Extend - it may reboot and do this pre-windows if files are in use)

Then after this,.. you'll have your unallocated space to use for primocache.

*I've been using PCache for ages now,... I've split my raid0 SSDs with 32GB spare, to be used,..alongside 4GB of my 24GB Memory to boost other drives :P

Your cache shouldn't be very large, maybe 8GB at the maximum, unless you're dealing with extremely large files. Keep in mind that the cache will only help with write speeds and not read speeds, and that the cache partition on your SSD will wear out a lot faster than the regular partition. Do you have any other questions?

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
