Posted August 17, 2018 (edited) I am making a server-based gaming rig for the purpose of hosting large local game servers and playing on them at the same time, and I know high speed storage is important but what would be best? The Higher capacities of SATA SSD's, Slightly lower capacity NVMe/PCIe SSD's with a lot of raw bandwidth, or the technologies offered by Intel Optane (3D Xpoint) EDIT: NVM my solution does not support optane Edited August 17, 2018 by DGC Needed to remove intel optane because my hardware does not support it
 Posted August 17, 2018 Use optane to cache a sata or use storeMI to use a nvme and sata.
