folding@home gpu issue

so i'm having a problem with folding@home. my gpu stays on ready and never starts folding. 

relevant specs:

GTX 780Ti

2x Xeon X5650's

Linux Mint 19

Kernel 4.17.14-041714-generic

Driver version 340. (390 gave me issues)

i'm using 6 threads for cpu folding and that works fine.

OP are you in Low, medium or full? Because Low doesn't use the GPU at all 

i believe when i tested it i was running at either medium or full. i don't currently have it installed.
