Hello.

I am looking at purchasing a new system to make my games run smoother and to be able to play some of the newer titles around as my current system is abit lacking these days.

Old system:
Core i5-2500K overclocked to 4.2GHz - CM Seidon 120 XL + 2x Noctua NF-F12-PWM
MSI Z68A-G43 (G3)
Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) CL9 1600Mhz
ASUS GeForce GTX 770 2GB DirectCUII OC

I will be reusing:
PSU Fractal Design 800W Newton R2/800W/Modular
Cooler Master 690 II Advanced Black (Unless something else would be more suitable.Max price if so will be 1000SEK or about 100-120$)
Samsung 860 EVO 250GB

2x Fujitsu P23T-6 Thor 23" 60Hz IPS

I want to buy:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 19MB - Noctua NH-D15 AM4
ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F GAMING
Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16 Vengeance LPX Black
Samsung 970 EVO 250GB
ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB DUAL OC

Im looking at a semi-new system in the ballpark of 1500-1600$. (I live in Sweden so my currency is SEK but roughly made it to $ to make it easier.)

The system will be used for gaming, my old rig has some issues running newer game at better graphics and fps which is my main reason for an upgrade but I also want to make the PC abit more future secure since my old system was bought back in mars 2012. with some exceptions like the GTX 770 and the 860 EVO those were bought as quick fixes at the time. I might look at going to 3 screens and maybe 26-27" instead. No peripherals needed.

Appriciate your thouhts and ideas, want as much bang for the buck so to say!

Which numbers are you using to convert currencies?

Use prisjakt.se when buying all your part.

You might consider to use an extra 600 SEK on a vega 56 to get acces to cheaper Freesync displays to get the best possible experience.

Dont get the 2600x unless yoy really dont want to OC. You can get the 2600 for cheaper and OC away the difference between them

How much does that system cost where you are? Should be within your budget. Putting the parts in to PcPartPicker shows about $1250 USD for those parts (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gRVrYT), so they should be easily within your $1500 budget. You could probably get a cheaper motherboard if you wanted to save a few bucks, but there's nothing wrong with the one you have selected. As already mentioned maybe swap the 2600x for the 2600 to save some cash.

I'd reuse the 860 evo as a games drive. Once you install windows on the new 970, just wipe the 860 and install some Steam games on to it. Might help improve some loading times on some games.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

I have taken the prices from Inet.se and checked the currency exchange on both Forex and Valuta.se which is why I put the 1500-1600$ range. (Prefer to get it all from 1 store and save the hazzle incase something isn't working properly or alike.)

I was looking at the 2600X just cause of the reason to avoid overclocking at the get go but stil lget a good cpu that can be overclocked when needed.

According to the currency exchange sites I have looked at they say 1500 and 1600 which is why I put the budget at 1500-1600$. As for the 2600X you can read the answer above. Could even strech it abit for a better Case or other part by 100-150$.

Exactly what I planned on doing.
