upgrade time

Hey, so I've been out of the tech scene for a while now, but I still play and buy games from steam, its just that I haven't been paying attention to new cpus, gpus, motherboards etc that have been coming out. my current system is i7 6700, Asus h170 board, msi gtx 1060 3Gb, 16Gb Adata Ram, Adata 120 ssd boot drive, wd 1Tb blue drive. I'm looking to do upgrades across the whole system, but I'm not sure which card or board to get, any help is greatly appreciated for this. I do want to eventually go to at least 1440p and hopefully 4k in the future.

1080Ti if you're honest with yourself about 1440p now and 4k in the future, without buying another new card in the future for 4k.  

 

You have a solid base system, as 1440p and 4k will need more GPU than CPU.  I'd get a 1080Ti and see how happy with it you are before upgrading your CPU/Motherboard.

 

I had an i5 4670K with my 1080Ti and it pushed the 1440p Ultrawide very nicely.  Other issues forced my upgrades, but I'd still be rocking it if not.
