Hello every one,

at the moment i have i7 4770 Intel processsor with 16gb of ddr3 ram, and a gtx 760 rog platinum with 4gb of ddr5. 750w chieftec power supply and case..etc.

i want to upgrade and/r buy new pc with regards of keeping my grapics card - or please suggest whether i need to buy that too.

Mainly atm i would use it for gaming, planing on having fortnite on 144+fps(with monitor to keep up with that)

The config that i was planing to buy is:

1. Intel i78700k

2. Asus ROG Strix z370 e gamig or ROG Maximus X Hero(i was planing on clocking it a bit and help me decide what to choose, dont think the price differentiates that much)

3. 16gb(2x8 dual channel) G.Skill Trident z RGB 3600 OR  3200 - also i doubt that theres a big difference, but there is in price

4. Samsung 970 evo(250gb) or Smsung 970 pro(512gb) - let me know your thoughts

5.  i have 1tb wd blue

6. Graphics card, i would like to keep my current one, because they are really pricey, i could also need advice here

7. the current 750 w chieftec power supply

8. Nzxt s340 elite(if that can support this motherboard) or s500/500i

9. NZXT kraken 42 cooling system

10. couple of fans (for overclocking)

Please let me know your thoughts on graphics card/my doubts, and in genereal what should i buy first?

Denis

which chieftec unit? the maximus X hero is better but take a look at the asrock taichi and gigabyte gaming 7 too. don't need a 970 evo for just gaming, an MX500/860 evo is more than enough. you're better off spending the money on a better GPU than upgrading everything else.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

When i mentioned ssd,s i meant the nvme ones. As for crucial i cannot find it in my country, i am from Montenegro :)

Chieftec is actually 700w - this one: http://www.chieftec.eu/en/psus/ps-2/smart-series/gps-700a8.html

What graphics card would you suggest then? I was really thinking of updating myself(with ddr4 etc) and in future i might buy the graph card as well.

you don't an NVME ssd. just a decent sata SSD will work just fine. look for an 850/860 evo if you can't find an MX500. replace that PSU, a 700w psu with only 2 8-pin connectors is a sign that it's not very good. you can get away with just upgrading to a gtx 1080, the 4770 is still a very capable CPU.

I forgot to mention that i have Intel 530 ssd series 240gb. Is the gtx 1100 version worth the wait?

Still, thanks for advice, but i would also like to hear other opinions about  config :)

We don't know when the 11XX/20XX series will be coming out, so.... Who knows. I agree with @Herman Mcpootisthat you do not need NVMe(98-99% of people don't, and probably will never notice that big of a difference between NVMe and SATA SSDs). As far as what to upgrade, I'd upgrade the graphics card you currently have before anything else, as there probably won't be that big of a difference between what's out and what's coming(not to mention if anything is holding you back in gaming, that's it).

Hey, i have one question now tho. Since i seriously need an upgrade, i was wandering would it be okay to get like 1080 or 1080ti and then get processor i3 or i5 8th generation with it? And which graphics card would you recommend me between 1070ti, 1080 or 1080ti?

Thanks

you'll need at least an i5 for a 1070 and above, but otherwise it's fine. if you're just gaming though, prioritize the GPU first.
