Ok folks, new user here been a lurker for some time but finally got back into PC's after console gaming for so long.

So long story short few weeks back found a bargain snapped the guys hands off. It was £100.

Fx-4100 with ASUS M5A78L-M LX

Amd black edition 7950 3gig ddr5

8gig ram

Case

750W power supply ect.

Mobo is not a great piece as it's limited to 95W CPU's.

It runs pretty good, nothing amazing, but does what I want for asseto Corsa for the time being. Now the questions

Am I going to see any real benefit upgrading the FX chip? And adding more RAM?

Most of AMD's old stuff is pretty bad so If you're happy with the performance you're getting I don't see any reason to upgrade it. The RAM, on the other hand, might benefit from being upgraded to 16 GB in general use, not so much in games.

wait till you've got enough money for at least a ryzen 1200/2200G+mobo+ram, then upgrade to that. If you really can't wait or can't save enough then even a 2nd gen i7/Xeon will run circles around any FX CPU in games.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
