Hello Internet,

WQHD 144/120Hz or not that is the question.

Currently i have a 4k 60Hz IPS Display and am supper happy with it apart from gaming in Overwatch.

Im am going to upgrade to the 1170/2070 or something 1080ti aquivalent so i can finally game Witcher 3 at 60 fps in 4k. Lately im playing more and more Overwatch though and am now considering to get a higher refresh monitor and since a 4k high refresh neither the GPUs needed to power these are in my budget im considering WQHD. I wouldnt get rid of my 4k monitor and would have a dual monitor setup.

What will be probably annoying though for me atleast if im dragging a window from one monitor to another where would be a size difference in the displayed window. Furthermore im not sure if my 6600k has enough horse power to power 120/144hz in WQHD.

My current rig:

CPU:        i5 6600k@4.3 Ghz  with i believe the Pure Rock bequiet CPU cooler

GPU:        KFA GTX 1070

MB:          Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 5-EU

RAM:       2x8GB 3200Mhz

1st SSD:  950 Pro SSD 512 GB

My budget for the upgrade (GPU+possibly Monitor+possibly CPU) is around 1200 Euro.

Other games i enjoy playing: Anno 1404 (going to buy the upcoming one probably), Skyrim (planning on modding it), Far Cry 4 (not going to play the 5th one), Tomb Raider (the newest), Witcher 2, Total War: Medieval 2 (played Warhammer and Rome cpu or graka not keeping up but i am probably not going to play them much more).

If i am going down with the WQHD 120/144Hz route which monitor could you recommend?

If the 6600k isnt sufficient should i keep the motherboard and get a 7700k?

Looking forward for you answers, appreciate that you are taking some time commenting.
