windows 10 would not boot

So yesterday I tried restoring back to msi factory settings and it didn't work it gave me an error message and when I tried rebooting it will say this while booting: automatic repair and will be loading and it will say automatic repair did not work error, Log File: "E:\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt"

That means your Windows 10 Installation is busted.

You could try to fix it using methods found on google but the easiest thing to do is to reinstall from a USB or DVD.

Keep in mind doing that removes all files on your C:/ drive.

If you can access a PC from a family member run this tool from MS and let it install Windows 10 (Home or Pro, select which one you had before) on a 8GB+ USB Drive or normal DVD.

Once that is done plug it into your MSI PC/Laptop and get into the boot menu, commonly accessed after powering on and pressing F12 - F11 - F8 or DELETE.

It can take a couple tries, just try those four keys and one will bring you to there.

If the USB/DVD doesn't show up enable it in the bios, commonly found under Boot Options

After that is done and you are booting into the installer just click next until you are asked to Upgrade or do a Custom Install

Choose Custom Install select your C:/ Drive and delete it. If you have multiple drives the sizes should give away which one is which if not the volume label will.

 

At this point let it install.

Now is a great time to download some drivers for your graphics card 'n' such.

Look up the modelname/number of your machine and grab the latest drivers.

Once Windows is installed copy those from the secondary PC to the USB for installation on Laptop/PC from MSI.

If you want a quick way to install all commonly used applications at once, use Ninite.

 

 

That'd fix the booting issue.

I always tend to explain how to install Windows since some do not know that.
