Hey team, I'm in the process of overclocking my R5 1600 and memory and run into a bit of a snag. Got the CPU running stable at 3.9GHz and trying to push my memory (gskill flare x 2400) a bit higher. I ran it at 2800 but couldn't get it to run at 2933. No worries popped the mobo battery full reset and booted again. Only problem is that now when I power up and press del to go into bios the screen just goes black. It doesn't try and reset our power down and if I just let it go through its startup everything runs fine. Any help pls and thank you

Which motherboard do you have?

Can you please give us the make and model?

When you popped the CMOS battery out, did you disconnect the PSU from the wall socket?

Taking the little button cell battery out, won't do anything if the motherboard is still getting power stand-by through the PSU.

Make sure the CMOS battery is also reinstalled in the right direction.

Hey mate, asus prime b350m-k. Disconnected psu, popped battery then left is for 10 mins, hit power button then reinstalled battery and then power cable before booting.

EDIT: Overclocked my cpu to 3.8ghz 1.325v and ram to 2800mhz 1.2v. Benchmarked fine, ran prime95 and temp reached 87°c using the stock cooler but it seemed stable. If I can still do that stuff should I really worry about bios stuff or can I get away with not accessing it for a year or so until I can upgrade my mobo
