Alright so, I dropped my OnePlus 5 flat down on the tarmac, screen first.

Neither screen or panel survived.

Same day, I took it to a repair shop, got the screen replaced with original spare part.

Ever since, the Bluetooth performance has been next to non existent. Phone needs to be right next to the connected device to insure stutter free playback, at approx 15cm distance, it flat out looses connection.

Also noticed GPS stopped working.

Took it back to the shop, technician claimed he could find nothing wrong, stating the the fall must have nudged a small chip, disconnecting it from the circuit. Further stating he'd seen it before.

I challenged his opinion, stating it would be physically impossible to judge a small chip due to its mass, or lack off, stating that the force required would have totaled the entire circuit board.

Also informed him that both Bluetooth and GPS module is part of the SoC, so if that was the case, it wouldn't even be able to boot.

Question 1;

Anyone who knows if there's actually any truth to the technicians claims?

Question 2;

I'm guessing the connection to what ever antenna Bluetooth uses got nicked by the technician. But if thats the case, I'd likely be a shared antenna that GPS uses aswell, but not shared with wlan or cellular as these are unaffected.

Anyone with some technical know-how that can confirm or point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!
