College laptop

Hey guys I am going to start my college in a  month and I still don't have a laptop . The specifications provided by my college are as such:

Core i5 or i7

Ram no less than 16 gb

Memory 500 gb or more

Graphics atleast 2 gb

Optional cd drive , ethernet port

my budget is 1200 canadian dollars only. I have found one that matches my taste https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ASUS-VivoBook-S15-S510UN/  

The course I am going to do is Network technician and yes my college prefers yogabook 520  by lenovo and description of my course is as follows

Throughout the program, students learn how to write code using a variety of languages such as Arduino, ASP.NET, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, SQL and Swift. the 16gb ram is a tough one for €800 (approx 1200 canadian). vivobook looks decent enough, here's an offering from dell, i7 8550U, 16gb ram, 128gb ssd + 1tb hdd, 4gb MX150 gpu. https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-laptops-netbooks-and-tablets/new-inspiron-14-7000/spd/inspiron-14-7472-laptop/ni147472_btsb_s264e?ref=1251_title I looked at HP and Acer, they have nothing in your price range with 16gb ram. Hope this helps a bit, Amazon can be a handy place to find laptops, filter out the laptops there (i'd reccomend filtering by ram cause 16gb rules out anything bellow an i5)

Vivobooks are generally mediocre, Inspiron series laptops (non gaming) aren't worth it.

Actually I was given 1900 canadian dollars only for both my laptop and smartphone and I  am thinking of buying both with good enough specs so please share about smartphone as well

With such a tight budget I would straight go looking for an acer.

Look out that you can upgrade the RAM, because you wont be getting configured 16gb RAM.
