Build not good enough for AAA games?

Alright thanks for the fast reply, any tips for where to buy that stuff?

4790 is no longer in production so ebay etc there.  They are $150-ish.  1070 from Amazon or Newegg if you are in the states.

So I've been thinking about getting a completely new PC. With my current build, including a 1050 TI, an i5 - 4400 CPU and 8 GB of RAM, i find myself not being able to play AAA games at stable 60 fps if i don't turn the setting down to at least medium-low. I don't know if it has to do anything to do with the rest of my PC, so that's why i came here. I can provide the full list of hardware if needed, but I don't wanna get a completely new PC just because i only would have to upgrade like only the CPU or something that's just not worth getting everything else again for. But if I would need to upgrade a bunch of stuff, I could really need help with a new build. I don't know where to get my parts for a good price and most importantly not to get parts that are overkill.

It was mid-tier hardware when it was new a couple years ago. You can't really expect ultra graphics on mid-tier hardware.

And yeah, you'd have to replace both the CPU and GPU to go for 60fps guarantee at high settings.

Graphics aren't everything gameplay is. Don't complain that your machine "can't play AAA games" just because you have to turn the settings down. All hardware ends up needing settings turning down to play new games at some point.

4790 and GTX1070 and you are good to go.  Not sure you want to spend that kind of money though.

I probably wont be able to buy those at the same time, but which one of the upgrades will have a bigger effect?

1070 for sure.  another stick of RAM (assuming you are using 1) will help too for dual channel.

Yeah, graphics don't mean anything. That's why I always play my games on a Windows XP laptop. The graphics and FPS don't matter. It's all about the gameplay sheeple!

Do you have a budget? Maybe try selling the current PC? It might be worth it going with a newer system, newer technologies it brings!

I think you just took my point to the extreme. My point was that just because your game won't play at ultra/high on your hardware at a playable framerate doesn't mean that your game is "unplayable", playable framerates can usually be found on hardware that's not the latest and greatest by turning settings down, anti aliasing is one of the top offenders for drastically reducing framerates on hardware that's not the best in the world.

A wise woman once told me that exaggeration increases understanding.
