New Gaming/Streaming Rig

Zeorth

So, I got a GTX 1080 from a friend since he was going to buy the new gpus and my old system just keeps bottlenecking the 1080. So i’m building a new system for around 1000 USD (could go a bit over) however I don’t need a gpu since I already have one. I’m planning on gaming and streaming almost everyday at hopefully 1080p60fps or at least 720p60fps. Can anyone piece out a good build? Cheers!

I was able to make a $900 build with an 1800X, B350 board, 16GB of memory, and an SSD & HDD combo. You'll be sure to game and stream smoothly on this. Could've maybe gone for a Ryzen 2XXX and a B450/X470 board, I admit, but changes are welcome. :)

You don't need a terribly high end PC for your goals. You can turn down the stream settings. I chose a single SSD for storage, but you can easily add a HDD.

450W? Would a 2600 be able to do 1080p60fps or 720p60fps?

x470 gives more overclocking options that B450. Moved from the B350 in their list to a B450 board. Suggest if you'd like to really get into the nitty gritty of overclocking that you find a way to get an x470 or at least a x370 board.

Yes, 450W for overclocking. 350W would be enough at stock, but there aren't any good ones.

Yes, should be fine once overclocked. Think Gamers Nexus did testing with the 8400 and 1500X, that was fine.

I really don't see why you wouldn't. For my list, 2600X instead of 2600, drop the cooler. Just chose the cheapest good PSU, so no point downgrading that.

What are you planning on streaming? If you want any benchmarks I can run those for you, I have a (stock clocked, I suck at overclocking) R7 2700X, 16GB 300MHz RAM, and a 980 Ti in my rig, running off an ASUS B540-F.
