The new mobos should be x499?

They should drop with the cpus.

They will drop in with a BIOS update, they should have the VRMs to run stock clocks all day (I haven't seen an x399 with BAD VRMS), but to OC you might need more. 

Both the MSI and Gig new boards have pretty massive VRM upgrades over the original round of x399.  I believe the MSI is rumored to be a 16 phase set up while their current pro carbon is 10 phase.

Only time and testing will tell when the new CPUs come out later.
